What to wear for a Networking Event

As many students are graduating and beginning their job and intern search, they are also networking. With my experience in the fashion world, a lot of my younger friends have asked for advice on what to wear to a networking event.  So I decided to write to post to give some ideas.

Networking 1

I have a thing for dresses when it comes to events and interviews.  It not only shows the feminity of a woman but it is also a cclassy style with and twist of chic.  I love the bold color which makes an individual stand out of the crowd of dark colors (which for some reason is the standard style at networking events).  Styling bold colors with neutral accessories also helps makes a statement to your ensemble.

The sophisticated office look is another one of my favorite styles.  A tweed high waisted skirt paired with a bold color top helps brighten up your style and bring out your personality.  Matching this ensemble with a wide waist belt and a bold statement jewelry brings together the outfit.  Don't forget the appropriate heels to complete the look.

So what do you think?  What are some of your networking looks?

Greens and Nudes

Emerald Green

Morning readers, hope your morning is going well.  I've been going crazy with my shopping lately, especially for work attire.  With the snow gone, and the warm weather changing, I'm bringing in the new season with brand new dresses with pop of color.  I saw this little number at H&M and fell completely in love with the color.  I feel with the nude shoes and bag as staples, the color makes a statement in any environment.  What do you guys think?

What are some of your spring wants?

Fashion Trend: Jumpsuits

Since the award shows, I've noticed a trend with jumpsuits. Now I see them all over the stores.  I am one for comfortable were especially during the spring and summer times.  Jumpsuits are my summer staple next to maxi dresses.  Here are some of my favorite styles that I spotted while during my shopping spree.

I love the prints on this jumpsuit from GoJane.com.

This Forever 21 Jumpsuit puts a spin on the traditional jumpsuit.  It's the perfect jumpsuit to wear at the office with a nice pastel colored blazer.

I love all things vintage and classic.  This halter jumpsuit from Forever 21 puts some class in the office.

These two printed Go Jane Jumpsuits are perfect for any vacation.

I love this H&M jumpsuit.  Not only does it have a classy look to it but it brings some funk with a pop of color.  Love it.  The perfect piece to make a statement.

These three are from Go Jane again.  There are so beautiful and can be worn day or night.

What do you think?  What are some of you favorite spring trends?

Steven Madden and Keyshia Cole's Shoe line

When I first heard of Keyshia Cole's collaboration with Steve Madden, I was excited to see what creations she would come up with.  When her shoe line was launched 2 weeks ago, of course, I was one of the very first to take a look and I must say I am very much impressed.  I love love love the face that not only is it sexy, but it has an edge to it.  With texture and style, I can't wait to own my very own pair.  The three posted below are my three top favorite from her collection.

What do you think of her collection?  What is you favorite?
